Client feedback - it's a must!

A friend recommended me to Steve, as I was going through a difficult time after a marital breakdown. I was going to go to a counsellor, but decided that after one session, life coaching was what I needed. Steve made me see that 'irregular self-talk' was stopping me from moving forward and to deal with my problems. We worked together, and through exercises I was making manageable steps - would recommend to anyone.

I found using Steve as a life coach very useful indeed and would recommend him to anyone needing assistance in their life. In the past because of a confidential experience I developed a unnecessary way of thinking which caused me to be extremely stressed. I found Steve friendly and easy to talk to and was able to disclose the root cause of my thinking. He helped me get back to the old me and has encouraged me to get active and start enjoying my life again and each session has helped. He has given me the skills to be able to think and act for myself and to be accountable. If you have a mental health problem or just need to improve an area in your life I would highly recommended Steve, from my point of view it was money well spent.

I found Steve through a friend of mine who is also a teacher. She had received some coaching regarding Work/Life Balance, so I decided to try it as my life was at the lowest point ever - I just didn't know how to manage anymore. Steve really gave me the self- belief and confidence to make changes to my situation. Coaching is so empowering and having had several sessions with Steve, I feel I am now in control!

Taking the time to step out of life and focus purely on oneself is a rare thing. We looked at what was causing my negative thinking and what to do to control these thoughts. I have a very influential role in sport and it was important that I took back control. I was shown how to take steps to control my life and what to put in place if I came across 'hurdles'. I've taken 3 sessions so far and I have moved on personally in that time more than I have reading self-help books in the last 8 years!

I have been struggling with raising a family and balancing a career in teaching. I found my school was powerless to help me. They would mention it from time to time but could offer no solutions. I turned to Steve who has experience working as a teacher and he knew exactly where I was coming from. He was really helpful, by breaking everything down and building it up piece by piece. Through goal setting and mindset exercises I have now begun (at last) to take back control. Please go and see him for a few sessions, he saved my marriage, life and sanity!!

Steve's perspective on coaching gives a fresh approach to the discipline. I had received coaching before but was interested in Steve's mind management approach. He really was able to take my thinking right down to the basics. I had no idea just how many self-limiting beliefs I had and how it was holding me back. He gave me the skills and confidence to evaluate every situation rationally and helped me eliminate my fears!

The decision to receive coaching was one of the best choices I have ever made. I was a little skeptical at first as I didn't really know the differences between coaching and counselling.

I was feeling very unsettled at work and concerned that I was facing an 'empty nest' soon. I chatted to Steve about it and he suggested we have a few coaching sessions to try and help focus my thoughts. It worked really well, within a few sessions I really had focused on what I needed to do. I handed in my notice at work, enrolled on a college course and secured a part-time job in a matter of weeks. I'm very grateful to Steve for encouraging me to come to my own conclusions, I feel so empowered now.

Tony Nutley - Director - UK College of Personal Development = Final assessment
Reading the final assignment of Steve's submission - what comes through is a high level of personal honesty, a personal warmth and high level of ethical and professional character.
The “Reflections on performance” show a deeply reflective coach that clearly wants to do the right thing, for his clients and the profession. The examples referred to are easy understand and interesting to read.
This student has noted the position of trust the coach has, this is good to hear so early on in their development, again building confidence in his client’s mind and giving an overall impression of quality and professionalism.
Scanning through the 50 coaching records, there is a good level of detail, reflective practice is also present and one is left believing that this student will be successful as a practicing coach.
I have no hesitation is recommending a full pass mark, full membership of UKCPD and advising membership to the Association For Coaching.
